THE UNDISCOVERED ITALY….THE REGION OF PUGLIA—October 23-31, 2010

Puglia, also known as Apulia, is in the south of Italy; the heel of Italy’s boot.

Our tour will visit many interesting cities, including four UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Optional pre-tour to Venice for four nights, Oct. 19-23, for La Biennale di Venezia
(Contemporary Art & Architecture Exhibition).  Details and prices TBA.

Optional Post 15 Night TransAtlantic Sailing on Celebrity’s “new” Equinox,
October 31-November 15-from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale (see attached).

OUR ITINERARY:

Day 1—Depart U.S. by Alitalia Airlines or other carrier.

Day 2—Arrive Bari and transfer to Ostuni.  Welcome Dinner.

Day 3—Visit Lecce, known as Puglia’s Athens and South Florence.   Also Grottaglie, a
              Hilltop town famous for ceramics.  Lunch on own and Dinner in town.  

Day 4—Martina Franca and Locorotondo, to see Baroque Architecture and Alberobello
             (UNESCO) a town with limestone houses called trulli.  Lunch included.

Day 5—Visit Ceglie Messapico or Polignano A Mare and Castel del Monte (UNESCO),
              Fredrick II Octagonal Castle and Bari.  Dinner in town.

Day 6—Matera (UNESCO)-a prehistorical (troglodyte) settlement and one of the first in
              Italy.  Also visit Taranto.  Dinner at hotel.

Day 7—Depart the Puglia Region for Naples.  Enroute to Naples, visit
              San Giovanni Rotondo—home of Padre Pio and Monte Virgine Cathedral,
             with worldwide manger scenes.  Dinner in town.

 Day 8 and Day 9—In Naples, visiting Capodimonte Museum, Archeological Museum and
            City Sightseeing.  Optional Tours available to the Ruins of Pompeii  and
            Herculaneum; Underground Naples; Opera Tickets etc.  Lunch on Day 8
           and Farewell Dinner on Day 9.

Day 10--Depart Naples for Civitavecchia for our TransAtlantic Cruise—enroute visit
              The Royal Palace of Caserta (UNESCO), known as The Versailles of Italy.
             For those not cruising, you will be transferred to Naples Airport.  Optional
             arrangements are available to other cities.  Lunch on own.   
            
Our rate of $3450 per person, double occupancy includes:
*Roundtrip economy airfare from Alitalia Airline’s Gateways—Miami, New York,
  Boston and Chicago to Bari  and return from Naples.(air tax additional).
*Transfers from Bari to Ostuni and to Naples Airport, when using our air flights.
*Eight nights accommodations in Four Star Hotels in Pulgia and Naples.
*Breakfast daily and lunch or dinner daily (includes bottled water and glass of wine).
*English speaking tour leader for entire trip.
*Baggage handling in/out of hotels, for one checked bag. 
*Tips included for tour leader and bus driver, not for city tour guides.
*Fully Escorted.

All rates are based on a minimum of 25 people and subject to change.
Single rates are available.  Using your own air, deduct $350 per person.  Business class
airfare add $2690 p/p.  If going on cruise, deduct $250 for one way airfare.

Deposit due ASAP to obtain above rates:  $350 per person.  Final due August 9, 2010

Deposit refundable, less $25 p/p handling fee, up to June 1, 2010.  Forfeit deposit, if
canceled after June 1st.  No refund, if canceled after final payment.
